Discord Now Allows Xbox Players to Stream Directly
Discord has recently revealed that it will be introducing Stream to Discord for Xbox, making it more convenient for gamers to stream their preferred console games. This development is significant as it marks the first time a console will be able to stream directly to Discord, which was previously only accessible to PC and mobile gamers. It is worth noting that Xbox has consistently been ahead of its competitor, Playstation, in terms of incorporating new Discord features. For instance, last year, Xbox users were granted the ability to connect directly to Discord Voice channels.
If you haven’t already, you’ll need to connect your Xbox to Discord in the Connections menu on the desktop or mobile app — just click the Xbox logo and sign in with your Microsoft account. To stream directly from an audio channel, open the Parties & Chats tab on Xbox, select Discord, and then select the channel you want to join. From there, all you have to do is click “Stream Your Game” whenever you want to start broadcasting your game. Stream to Discord for Xbox is also available as a one-on-one or group message by clicking “cast to Xbox” during a call. Then, just like a channel, you can stream your game to your friends. Nitro subscribers will find that their streams can be viewed in high definition and up to 1080p.
Stream to Discord is now available to Xbox Insiders and will be rolling out “soon” to all Xbox players. The Xbox Insider Hub app is available for everyone to download from the Xbox Store. Discord also claims that they are “far from finished” with their Xbox integration and will make more announcements later this year.
